John is a registered architect in both Wisconsin and Minnesota and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman, earning a Masters of Architecture. He is currently pursuing LEED accreditation.

His work in offices in the Twin Cities and the St. Croix Valley has given him a broad exposure to both commercial and residential architecture. While employed with a design/build firm he gained valuable experience in producing quality design while utilizing economical construction strategies, he also acquired the skills to efficiently manage the construction of projects. Work with a large architectural firm gave him knowledge of commercial design and experience navigating the approvals process to secure permits in tightly regulated urban settings. During this time his work earned an Award of Recognition by the St. Paul Heritage Preservation Commission.

In his practice, John places a high priority on collaboration with his each of his clients. He seeks to develop the optimal design solution which carefully balances both budget and program. His longtime interest in sustainability also plays a central role in his design approach. The opportunity to apply green building techniques and technology is sought in every phase of development and is seamlessly integrated into the design solution.


John offers design and construction services for remodeling, additions and new construction. Architectural Services include Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bid Review, and Construction Administration. Construction Management is an optional service offered at the conclusion of the design phase, The service is tailored to the clients' needs, allowing the client to determine their level of participation in the construction process.
