Riverside Remodel

Burkhart, Wisconsin

This once small cabin was transformed into a cozy three bedroom home resulting in a creative blend of spaces and finishes. Over the period of several years, three separate additions and remodels were completed on this home. The owners desired to keep the efficiency of a small home figured prominently into the programming of each space. The first project entailed the creation of a master bath on the lower level. A simple three space arrangement partitioned with textured glass panels was devised to separate a walk-in shower, toilet stall and vanity. A built-in teak shower bench and towel hooks completed the space. The second addition/remodel added much needed space and light to the kitchen and created a small foyer. Tasmanian oak floors were installed along with new windows and siding. The final addition consisted of a second story to accommodate a growing family. This created two bedrooms, a play loft and bath. The custom stair to the second level was constructed from maple with stainless steel cable rigging. John also served as construction manager on this project.
